Our people are here to serve, teach, and encourage! It is an exciting time in the life of Crosswoods Baptist Church as we set out together to reach our community and the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Senior Pastor Stephen Bruce
Hello, my name is Steve Bruce. I grew up here in Central Kentucky and have lived in the area all of my life. My parents taught me the importance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and how to apply scripture to my daily life. My relationship with the Lord began in the 2nd grade and a significant life change took place as I entered high school when I began to understand what a relationship with Jesus meant. God called me to serve in ministry and my home church gave the opportunity to preach my first sermon at the age of 17. I have continued to serve the Lord for over 30 years as Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Senior Pastor.
I have been the Senior Pastor at Crosswoods since May 2006. God has given me a passion to preach the Word and lead believers in their daily walk with Him. My prayer for Crosswoods Baptist is to have a Kingdom Vision, meaning to look for ways to share the hope found in Jesus Christ by building relationships with people, growing in your knowledge of God, and living a life like Christ. This goes along with one of my favorite verses, Philippians 2:5, having the mind of Christ.
My wife April and I have been married since 1989 and have two kids, Lindsey and Lincoln. I love basketball, baseball, football, golf, and probably most sports. I also love old movies, old shows, westerns, and history. My one claim to fame is that I played basketball for the University of Kentucky in 1987 as a walk-on.
Associate Pastor/Worship Pastor Chris Mofield
Hello! My name is Chris Mofield. I was born and raised in Kentucky. My parents taught me from an early age the importance of going to church and having a personal relationship with Christ. I accepted Christ as my personal savior as a child. God called me to serve Him in ministry at the age of 17. I surrendered to God’s call to serve in the ministry and have been blessed to serve in churches since that time. I received both my Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Music from Eastern Kentucky University.
I joined the Crosswoods staff in November 2014 as Worship Pastor. I believe that music is a gift from God that we should in turn use to glorify God and point other to God. My wife, Christin, and I are blessed with a son, Caleb. In my spare time, I enjoy coaching the Kentucky Wildcats & managing the Atlanta Braves all from the comfort of my couch.
